Our epic 375-mile, mixed terrain bikepacking trip came up short a few miles. We reluctantly made the right choice to end our out-there adventure after too-many-arduous-miles-in-deep sand and too-many-flats-to-reliably-fix and hey-i'll-give-you-a-ride-to-yer-truck-for-gas-money kind of made the option obvious.
As you see below, we ate an awesome breakfast (and pie!!!) in Julian CA on our way home. Eventually got the bikes fixed up and had some delicious beer. Errin and Serbrina opened their home to three wayward gentlemen for several more nights than originally intended. And we took daytime and evening tours of their favorite spots in LA's San Gabriel Valley. In other words, we got lemons, and we made orange cream soda.
As Errin says, "Adventure is where you find it."
China Town.
Silverlake for Breakfast.
Errin; our native guide and stellar host.
Mere minutes separate these two images. Surely we are cyclists that ride to eat!
A Pilgrimage to Golden Saddle.
A ride up to Griffith Park.
Los Brochachos!
On a bike, down by the river.
Yummy, yummy orange cream soda!
When you have a bike and good friends, a great time is surely not far away.
